Isometric Sketching
This activity was focused on drawing three-dimensional objects from an isometric view. Using isometric paper made it much easier than having to draw objects free hand on blank paper.
Conclusion
- The advantage of using an isometric view rather than an oblique view, is that the isometric view appears more life like. The oblique views often have distorted depths while an isometric drawing will have equal lengths for each dimension of a drawing.
- A two-dimensional sketch is different from an isometric view because an isometric view gives to a view of the Z-Axis. Both types of drawings use tonal shading to show how an object has different parts in the light to give the two-dimensional sketch a three-dimensional feel.
- Designers use tonal shading to show how an object would look if there was a light source in the distance. Tonal shading gives an image a more life-like feel that gives a three-dimensional drawing a sense of reality.
